Trailer for PlanetSide 2 released

Announced back in July 2011, Sony Online Entertainment are releasing a new video showing off their upcoming PlanetSide 2.

Back in December, we reported that the Beta applications were open for submission, this video however features the Alpha version of the game, yet it’s still an opportunity to see some pre-release footage.

In this video, SOE’s Creative Director Matt Higby presents some PlanetSide 2’s highlights from the most recent gameplay demo. This includes examples of air combat, vehicle combat, infantry combat as well as an overview of maps and environments on the alien planet of Auraxis.

PlanetSide 2 is an epic MMOFPS game that offers a truly competitive and visceral FPS experience with massive warfare, massive customization and massive community. In this video Sony Online Entertainment Creative Director Matt Higby walks through some of PlanetSide 2’s Alpha highlights from the most recent gameplay demo including examples of air combat, vehicle combat, infantry combat and an overview of maps and environments on the alien planet of Auraxis.

So far so good, little is known, we know a Beta is on the way, as for the release date, that’s a good question.
