I have luckily not had this issue on my AMD card yet.
Which card are you using?

My graphic card went 96°C on Witcher 3. Luckily I had a second screen with the new Crimson Radeon monitoring temp and fan speed.

If not for the absence of noise from the fan when playing the game, I wouldn’t have noticed it; and looking at the sensors allowed me to act fast and save my card which still works very well.

I’m clearly lucky..

Btw: for me the cap is set when launching the game; there seems to be problem with overdrive profile in which you can set the fan speed.

Using the general profile, you can unset the fan speed cap when the game launch. I’m doing that in order to still play since the Crimson update.

But overall the driver is better, IHM is really good and my graphic card is less hot, while making less noise with the same graphic options on Witcher. Happy.

They made a huge update, it’s understandable that it would be buggy, but they should have eliminate this one already, since it poses a huge threat to graphic cards.
